From Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated November 5, 1998
submitting for confirmation the following appointment to the
County Pension Boazd:
Ms. Beatrice L. Lau, a Hilo resident, to replace Michie M.
Kuwaye of Hilo, whose term will expire on December 31,
1998. She is a retired educator from the State of Hawaii
Department of Education and is not a member of any
political party. If approved, Ms. Lau will serve a term to
end on December 31, 2003.

Comm. 990: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY TO ENTER
(Res. 328-98) INTO AN AGREEMENT FOR A STATEWIDE MARIJUANA
ERADICATION GRANT
From Finance Director Harry A. Takahashi, transmitting the above
resolution. The grant is to provide funding for expenses to conduct
missions for the elimination of controlled substances. Funds have
already been appropriated in the Operating Budget. Attaches copy
of the contract.

1998, transmitting the above bill. Due to severe restrictions
imposed by the State Department of Health's design requirements
for CXiD laudtills, only C&D wastes are allowed exclusively.
