Re: An Ordinance Designating TMK (3) 4-8-004:006 as the "Waipi'o
Community Park," Pursuant to Section 15-67(a)(2)(A) and Amending
Chapter 15, Article 8, Section 15-68.1, Hawai'i County Code, to Amend the
Parks and Recreational Facilities Schedule to Reflect Such Designation
Resolution 427-06 authorized the Mayor to enter into negotiation for the parcel known as
the Rice Property, TMK (3) 4-8-004:006. The property was designated by the Public
Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission as a high
priority.
Recently, that parcel has been acquired by the County, via the Public Access, Open
Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Fund.
Please find attached an ordinance to hereby designate the approximately 1.8 acre property
situated at TMK (3) 4-8-004:006 to be named the "Waipi'o Community Park."
The ordinance also amends chapter 15, article 8, section 15-68.1, of the Hawai'i County Code
1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), to add this facility to the Hilo/Hamakua
Parks and recreational facilities schedule.
