FC-3 Page 5 February 3, 2009 Comm. 107: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 19, ARTICLE 11, SECTION 19-90, (Bill 23) AND ARTICLE 10, SECTIONS 19-75 AND 19-89.5, HAWAII COUNTY CODE (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO THE DETERMINATION OF REAL PROPERTY TAX RATES (RPTR) {major changes are as follows: 1) requires notification in two newspapers of general circulation rather than one; 2) deletes the 10 day minimum notice requirement of the RPTR public hearing; 3) deletes the requirement to re-advertise and reconvene within three weeks of the public hearing; and 4) deletes the requirement to repeat steps 1 and 2 should the Council decrease or increase the rates, and replaces it with a requirement to publish the new rates in two newspapers of general circulation] From Deputy County Clerk Rodney Oshiro, dated January 21, 2009, transmitting the above bill.
