Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting a donation of a vehicle for the Hawai'i Fire Department's
Waiakea Fire Rescue Station from the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box
1285, Kailua-Kona, Hawai'i 96745. The Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation was
established by Dr. Frank and Laura Sayre in memory of their son, Daniel, who lost his life in
a tragic accident in Pololu Valley. The fund annually recognizes the bravery of the Hawai'i
County Fire Rescue squads and provides financial support and equipment for the
department.
This vehicle is a new 2008 Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab 4-Door 4-Wheel Drive Pick Up
Truck with a TRD off-road package and has a total value of $28,856.02.

A. REQUEST:
Prepare a resolution authorizing the Mayor to accept a donation from the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial
Foundation, of a new vehicle costing $28,856.02. The vehicle is a 2008 Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab 4 Door 4
Wheel Drive Pick Up Truck with a TRD off-road package, VIN #5TELU42N78Z578495. The vehicle is to be
assigned to the Waiakea Fire Rescue Station.
Please send a copy of the resolution to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 1285, Kailua
Kona, Hawaii 96745.
