It is my pleasure to nominate Steven Hirakami of Council District 5 to the Hawai'i
County Public Access, Open Space. and Natural Resources Preservation Commission.
Mr. Hirakami is a 62-year resident of Hawai'i. Since 2001, he is employed as Principal
at Hawai'i Academy of Arts and Science PCS.
His community service includes membership with the Hawai'i Charter Schools Network,
Hilo Y's Men, and Waiakea Settlement YMCA Board of Managers.
Mr. Hirakami states that he is a democrat. If confirmed, Mr. Hirakami will serve a term
to expire on December 31, 2013.
