RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A VEHICLE FOR THE HAWAII FIRE
DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation has donated a new 2008 Toyota Tacoma
Crew Cab 4-Door 4-Wheel Drive Pick Up Truck with a TRD off-road package to the Hawaii Fire
Department; and
WHEREAS, this vehicle, valued at $28,856.02, will be assigned to the Waiakea Fire Rescue
Station; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to
the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 1285, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96745, acknowledging
this donation.
