RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING /APP120PRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S).
WHEREAS, TE HA`A LEHUA is a Halau hula that is located in Kikala-Keokea, Kalapana
whose purpose is to preserve the Hawaiian culture through the teaching of hula; and
WHEREAS, TE HA`A LEHUA has 17 students ages 4 to 18 that participates at free of charge
to learn the importance of education, taking care of family and to be steadfast in the face of difficult
challenges through their Hawaiian culture; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Farks and Recreation supports programs which teach and
preserve the Hawaiian culture; and
WHEREAS, TE HA`A LEHUA is doing a workshop scheduled for May 2009, which the
students will learn how to prepare a dye bath, dye material, and sew a pau/kihei; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the
Department of Parks and Recreation to help fund the TE HA`A LEHUA hula costume workshop,
which is scheduled for May 2009; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Parks and Recreation Director and the Director of Finance and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
