Communication 99 on the February 3, 2009 Agenda for Environmental Management Comittee includes
a presentation regarding Zero Waste.
Please receive the presentation regarding Zero Waste with an open mind and give it a fair hearing.
As you take in the report and consider the implementation plan being proposed, I would encourage you
to compare that plan to any other possible proposals in terms of timeliness, initial and long-term net
costs, local economic development impact, and environmental impact.
It is my firm belief that you will find the strategies being proposed will have lower net costs, more
positive impacts on the local economy, and reduced negative environmental consequences.
