Enclosed is a resolution accepting a monetary donation of $1,500 to the Hawaii Fire
Department from the Edmund C. Olson Family Foundation, 11560 Tennessee Avenue,
Los Angeles, California 90064. The Pahala Volunteer Fire Department, which operates
under the direction of the Hawaii Fire Department, will be using the funds to purchase
fire suppression supplies for the Pahala Volunteer Firefighters.

A. REQUEST:
Please prepare a resolution to authorize the acceptance of a monetary donation of $1,500 from the Edmund
C. Olson Family Foundation. Please send a letter of appreciation and copy of the resolution to the
foundation at: 11560 Tennessee Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90064.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Pahala Volunteer Fire Department, which operates under the direction of the Hawai' I Fire Department,
received a donation of $1,500 from the Edmund C. Olson Family Foundation. The funds have been
designated to purchase Fire suppression supplies for the Pahala Volunteer Firefighters. Their initial request
is to purchase brushfire jackets.
