STATE OF HAWAII.
RESOLUTION NO. 57 09
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $1,500 TO
THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Edmund C. Olson Family Foundation has donated $1,500 to the Hawaii Fire
Department; and
WHEREAS, the Pahala Volunteer Fire Department, which operates under the direction of the
Hawaii Fire Department, will be using the funds to purchase fire suppression supplies for the Pahala
Volunteer Firefighters; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to
the Edmund C. Olson Family Foundation, 11560 Tennessee Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90064,
acknowledging this donation.
