Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 131, reports as follows:
Bill No. 131, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication No. 465, dated August
25, ] 997, amends Ordinance 97-82, as amended, the Capital Budget ending June 30, 1998, by
reappropriating lapsed fuel tax funds and establishing the following district appropriations:

North Kohala 632.08
South Kohala 17,570.56
North Kona 198,133.81
South Kona 96,087.05

Total $ 1,828,874.34
This ordinance reappropriates lapsed 1994-96 fuel tax district appropriations. Because the original amounts
were established by formula and to maintain equity, lapsed district funds would be reappropriated back to
the respective districts.
Funds for these projects shall be provided from the Fund Balance-Fuel Tax 94-96 Account No. 2271.25 of
the Capital Projects Fund.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 131 and recommends it pass
first reading.
