RESOLUTION INCREASING TIME ELEMENT OF PROGRAM
SPECIALIST (ELDERLY) FROM 3/4T TO FULL TIME

WHEREAS, Position No. 3771, Program Specialist (Elderly) 3/4T,
SR-22, is assigned to the Office of Aging at its Kona office; and
WHEREAS, this position is responsible for developing and
providing island-wide caregiver support and case management
services; and
WHEREAS, due to the growing number of older persons and
caregivers who need this service, it has been difficult to achieve the
demands of the position; and
WHEREAS, many of the training sessions, meetings, and
hearings are held during the evenings and on weekends; and
WHEREAS, by increasing the time element from 3/4T to full time,
this position would be better able to carry out the commitments to its
clientele; and
WHEREAS, funding for this ~dditional time will be provided by
Title III of the Older Americans Act; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the Area Plan on Aging
Miscellaneous Contractual Services account.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that Position No. 3771, Program Specialist
(Elderly) 3/4T, SR-22, be changed to Full Time.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $4,880 be transferred from the
Area Plan on Aging Miscellaneous Contractual Seryices account (010-
411-5411.10-115) to the Area Plan on Aging Regular Salaries & Wages

Account (010-411-5411.09-011). I

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Departments of Aging, Finance and Civil Service.
