COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 199 97 RESOLUTION INCREASING TIME ELEMENT OF VAN DRIVER FROM 1/2T TO FULL TIME WHEREAS, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is an elderly activity program, providing a variety of opportunities for retired persons 55 years and older to serve as volunteers in public or private non-profit agencies; and WHEREAS, more RSVP volunteers are requiring van transportation due to the increase in the number of volunteers who do not drive; and WHEREAS, by restricting the enrollment from volunteers who are non-drivers, the program philosophy of offering the volunteer opportunity to as many seniors as possible would be severely impeded; and WHEREAS, by increasing the time element of Position No. 3347, Van Driver 1/2T, WB-5, to full time, this position would be better able to carry out the commitments of the RSVP program; and WHEREAS, funds are available in the Regular Salaries and Wages account of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Position No. 3347, Van Driver 1/2T, WB-5, be changed to Full Time. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the funds are available in the Regular Salaries & Wages Account of the RSVP Program, Elderly Activities Division, Department of Parks & Recreation (010-481- 5482.01-011). .
