Mende of Council District 3 to the Hawaii County Police Commission. Mr. Mende is a lifelong resident of Hawaii. Since 2005, he has been employed by American Savings Bank, specializing in business banking. From 2002 to 2005 he was employed by Central Pacific Bank and prior to that, from 1992 to 2002 he was employed by Bank of Hawaii. Mr. Mende is the treasurer of the Boys and Girls Club. He is also a board member of both the Hawaii Island United Way and Junior Achievement. Mr. Mende states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, he will serve a term to end on December 31, 2012, filling a position that has been vacant since December 31, 2007.
