Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 99, reports as follows:
Bill No. 99, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 106 by Finance Director Harry Takahashi,
via Communication No. 344, dated May 27, 1997, amends the Operating Budget ending
June 30, 1998.
The amendment is as follows:

This grant from the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services,
is to be used strictly for salaries and fringe benefits for five (5) Hawaii County police officers for
community policing.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 99 and
recommends it pass first reading.
