Hawaii County Council
Re: Bill 385
Hearing Detest Feb. 2 and Feb. 17
Dear Council Members:
We are most supportive and anxious to see the adoption of Bill 385 and the underlying 2006
IECC given that Hawaii County can implement the code in their own jurisdiction.
The economic benefits are obvious and apparently have been enumerated heretofore- The
long term benefits for the county, its citizens and businesses are enormous. Since we are at the
center of the Pacific Rim, this could be the hub around which much economic growth could occur if
it is planned well. Our island could be a magnet for sustainable growth throughout the Pacific Rim.
If we act prudently but quickly, we will no longer need to rely upon the resorts for our economic
well being.
We urge you to adapt Bill 385 and then assertively pursue its implementation.
pectfully,
D ~~J2en
