Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 90, reports as Follows:
Resolution No. 90, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 310, dated April 19, 1997, creates a Park Caretaker 12/ST position for the Puna District.
Due to increased park acreage in the Puna District and additional maintenance at the Cooper
Center, the Department of Parks and Recreation has needed to switch the current weekend park
caretaker to full-time, thus eliminating weekend coverage. By creating one (1) Park Caretaker I
2/ST position for the Puna District, maintenance on weekends and holidays can be provided.
There are sufficient funds in the Department of Parks and Recreation, Parks Maintenance's
Regular Salaries and Wages account, to cover the cost of the additional Park Caretaker position.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 90 and
recommends its adoption.
