Your Commttee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 89, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 89, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 309, dated Apri129, 1997, increases the time element and reallocation of the Facility
Maintenance & Service Worker I 1/2T position to Building Maintenance Repairer full-time.
The Parks Maintenance Division assists in repairs, plumbing and electrical work to the
deteriorating Hoolulu Park Complex. By reallocating the Facility Maintenance & Service
Worker I 1/2T, to Building Maintenance Repairer, and by increasing the time element to full-
time, an enhanced preventive maintenance program can be instituted to eliminate breakdowns
and the closure of facilities to a minimum.
There are sufficient funds in the Department of Parks and Recreation, Hoolulu Park Complex
Division, Regular Salaries and Wages account, to cover the cost of the additional time element
and reallocation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 89 and
recommends its adoption.
