It is my pleasure to nominate Richard Ha of Council District 4, to the County of Hawaii
Environmental Management Commission. Mr. Ha is a lifelong resident of Hawaii. He is
the President of Mauna Kea Banana Company, where he has worked as a farmer
since 1999.
Mr. Ha presently serves as a director of HIEDC and the Kohala Center, and he is the
treasurer of the Hawaii State Farm Bureau. He is a past director of the Hawaii Island
Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Ha states that he is a Democrat. If approved, he will serve
a term to end on December 31, 2013, replacing Mr. Arnold Okamura, whose term
expired on December 31, 2008.
