A RESOLUTION APPOINTING THE HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL
1EPRESENTATIVE TO THE HAWAII STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES
(HSAC) AS THE REPRESENTATIVE FROM HAWAII TO SERVE ON THE
WESTERN INTERSTATE REGION (WIR) BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
WHEREAS, the Hawaii State Association of Counties (HSAC) is a nonprofit
corporation comprised of members of the four county councils of the State of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, each county council represented on HSAC is a member of the National
Association of Counties (NACo) and also the Western Interstate Region (WIR), which is an
organization of western counties affiliated with NACo; and
WHEREAS, the by-laws of HSAC, Section SB, requires the Directors serving on the
WIR Board of Directors be nominated by the HSAC Executive Committee, and approved by the
individual councils; and
WHEREAS, on February 23, 2009, the HSAC Executive Committee nominated Hawaii
County Council Member Dennis "Fresh" Onishi to serve on the WIR Board of Directors; now
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Council Member Dennis "Fresh" Onishi shall serve as the HSAC representative on the WIR
Board of Directors; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution shall be transmitted by the
County Clerk to the President and the Secretary of the I-Iawai`i State Association of Counties.
