Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 84, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 84, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 286, dated April 23, 1997, increases the time element of a Recreation Technician II 2/ST to
3/4T and creating two (2) Recreation Technician II 2/ST positions for the Kona Gym.
Due to the increased use of the Kona Sports Complex and Administration's request to open on
weekends, the need to have additional staff and added staff hours is crucial. By increasing the
time element and by creating two (2) Recreation Technician Il: positions, the Kona Complex will
have adequate staff coverage to handle the necessary maintenance.
There are sufficient funds in the Department of Parks and Recreation, Recreation Division's
Regular Salaries and Wages account, to cover the cost of the additional time element and the
additional positions.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 84' and
recommends its adoption.
