Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 83, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 83, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 285, dated April 22, 1997, increases the time elements of two (2) Park Cazetaker I 2/ST
positions to full-time for Ka' u and Kona.
With the addition of the new Kahuku Park in the Hawaiian Ocean View Subdivision, and the
expansion by nine (9) acres of the Old Kona Airport sports complex, maintenance in the districts
of Ka'u and Kona are inadequate. By increasing the time elements, the additional work force
hours would ease in maintaining the facilities to a respectable standard.
There aze sufficient funds in the Department of Parks and Recreation, Recreation Division's
Regular Salazies and Wages account to cover the cost of the additional time element.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 83 and
recommends its adoption.
