Dear Mayor Kenoi and County Council members:
PLEASE DO NOT MISAPPROPRIATE THE 2% FUND
We understand there is a budget shortfall and the economy is in trouble.
The 2% Fund is not the appropriate place to scrounge funds from.
We worked hard getting signatures for the Initiative petition. We talked to so many people who
thought it imperative to save the land needed for open space, parks, and cultural purposes.
It is so important to save these places for future generations plus provide recreation for tourists.
While land prices are depressed, this is the best time to buy.
We can be smarter than Oahu and other neighbor islands with their lack of foresight regarding lands,
recreation and culture.
Please don't blow it.
