Subject: COMMUNICATION 115-Open Space Commission Reportto Mayor
Aloha Mr. Kenoi, Mr. Enriques and all concerned,
I have recently been sent a mass mailed message regarding the 2% land fund. I presume that you are aware of
this and have received numerous a-mails on this subject. I wish to address you personally, expressing my own
feelings on this matter.
This 2% land fund was voted on by the people of Hawaii county. If my memory serves me it won handily by a
large margin of the vote. It is the will of the people that these funds be used exclusively for the stated purpose for
which we voted. To do otherwise is wrong. It is my hope that you will all act with honesty and integrity and fulfill
the mandate of the electorate. Use that money to buy only land. We have already shown what we can accomplish
when we put our hearts and minds together. It is my sincere hope that you will continue to be a part of this legacy
that makes the Big Island such a unique and special place.
