A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S).
WHEREAS, the Sanctuary of Mana Kea Gardens is a 5ot(c)(3) organization who will
be the umbrella organization for "Domestic Harmony"; and
WHEREAS, Domestic Harmony started nearly ten years ago in Puna and has gained
momentum that has taken effect Island-wide; and
WHEREAS, Domestic Harmony reflects and takes a proactive, solution oriented
position towards the local and world wide problems surrounding domestic violence and its
many residual effects like substance abuse violence directed to others in schools, workplaces,
and road rage; and
WHEREAS, Hawaii County Council, and former Mayor Harry Kim have recently
offered proclamations to "Celebrate a Year and a Month of Domestic Harmony'; and
WHEREAS, Domestic Harmony plans to print bumper stickers that will state "Just Say
Yes To Domestic Harmony"; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District i will be appropriated to
the Hawaii County Police Department to be funded towards the Sanctuary of Mana Kea
Gardens for the purpose of printing "Domestic Harmony" bumper stickers; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
