ACCEPTANCE OF THE DONATION OF A RADIO PAGER TO THE
HAW AI'I FIRE DEPARTMENT (to be utilized by the Fern Acres Volunteer
Firefighters for emergency communications, donated by the Fern Acres
Community Association. Mr. Frank Commendador. President; value of $576.04)

Council's approval of the above donation.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 42, OF THE HAW AI'I
COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO
PUBLIC ACCESS, OPEN SPACE, AND NATURAL RESOURCES
PRESERVATION FUND (suspends the transfer of two percent of real property
tax revenue, including penalties and interest to the Public Access, Open Space, and
Natural Resources Preservation Fund, effective January 1,2009 for a period of two
fiscal years; and eliminates the minimum transfer amount of $250,000 that is
currently required in the Hawai'i County Code)

ASSAULT FORENSIC EXAMINER (SAFE) STANDBY PAY GRANT FOR
THE HA WAPI COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT; and
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 08-78, AS AMENDED, THE
OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAW AI'I FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2009 (appropriates $43,800 to the Sexual Assault
Forensic Examiner (SAFE) Standby Pay Grant account to be used to compensate
the SAFE nurses who are on standby status and waiting to conduct an examination
on victims of sexual assault. at any time of the day or week)
