CALL TO ORDER STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA REFERRALS Comm. 125: APPLICATIONS FROM NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS FOR COUNTY GRANT FUNDING FOR FISCAL YEAR 2009-2010 From Finance Director Nancy E. Crawford, dated February 4, 2009, submitting the qualifying applications from nonprofit organizations pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 25, Hawaii County Code, for the Council's review and appropriation of funds for inclusion in the Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2009-2010. Forty-nine (49) organizations have submitted applications for 77 programs, totaling $3,118,011.32. Attaches a list of organizations, the program titles, and amount requested including one (1) that was ruled ineligible. Postpone Comm. 125 to the HSEDC meeting scheduled for April 21, 2009. Ayes: Committee Members Enriques, Ford, Greenwell, Hoffmann, Ikeda, Onishi, Yoshimoto, and Chair Naeole. Noes: None. Absent: Committee Member Yagong. Comm. 125.1: From Director of Finance Nancy E. Crawford, dated February 5, 2009, reporting receipt of a late nonprofit grant application. Serving the Interests of the People of Our Island Hawai `i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer HSEDC-3 Page 2 March 2, 2009 Comm. 125.2: FISCAL YEAR 2009-2010 NONPROFIT GRANT REVIEW PROCESS AND FORMATION OF THE AD HOC COMMITTEE From Human Services and Economic Development Committee Chair Emily Naeole, dated February 9, 2009, outlining the above process and requesting formation of the ad hoc committee. An ad-hoc committee was created consisting of Councilmembers Emily Naeole, Chair; J Yoshimoto, Vice Chair; Dennis "Fresh" Onishi, member; and Guy Enriques, member. Ayes: Committee Members Enriques, Ford, Greenwell, Hoffmann, Ikeda, Onishi, Yoshimoto, and Chair Naeole. Noes: None. Absent: Committee Member Yagong. HSEDC-3 Page 3 March 2, 2009 Viewing of Meetings on Government Access Television - Channel 52: Finance, Public Safety and Parks & Recreation, and Environmental Management Committee meetings -Tuesdays, March 10 and 17, 2009 at 7:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.; Human Services & Economic Development, Food & Energy Sustainability, and Planning Committee meetings - Thursdays, March 12 and 19, 2009 at 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.; and all six Committee meetings - Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. These airtimes are subject to preemption by broadcasts from the State Legislature.
