Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 60, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 60, transmitted by District VI Councilmember John Santangelo, via
Communication No. 228, dated March 31, 1997, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from
the Pahala Community Association.
Pahala Community Association has graciously donated six hundred dollars ($600) to the County
of Hawaii DeparUnent of Parks and Recreation. The funds will be used for the purchase of
electrical material to complete the Pahala Community Center Extension.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the council, on behalf of
the county, may accept gifts of donations or personal property.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 60 and
recommends its adoption. Your Committee also recommends that a letter of appreciation be sent
to Robert Makuakane, President, Pahala Community Association at P.O. Box 661, Pahala,
Hawaii 96777.
