Arakaki, dated May 12, 1998, requesting discussion and possible policy formulation to address the gifting to the County of lava inundated lands that taxpayers do not want to avoid paying property taxes. Deputy Finance Director S.K. Schutte recommends that the property be sold at a foreclosure auction to avoid liabilities to the County.
