Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 59, reports as follows:
Bill No. 59, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication No. 191,
dated February 27, 1997, amends Ordinance 96-68, as amended, the Capital Budget ending
June 30, 1997, by increasing appropriations for the following project:
PUBLIC WORKS
Original Appropriation New Appropriation
Lindsey Road Improvements $ 250,000 $ 500,000

Lindsey Road Improvements -Federal $1,013,341 $2,195,058
Funds for this appropriation increase shall be provided from:
General Obligation Bonds and/or Other Sources $ 250,000
Federal Grants Receivable $1,181,717
Bill No. 59 increases the appropriation amount of the Lindsey Road Improvements project to
include the reconstruction ol~the pavement section as required by the State and the
reconfiguration of the intersection of Lindsey Road to Kawaihae Road to increase safety.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 59 and
recommends it pass first reading.
