Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 50, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 50, transmitted by Fire Chief Nelson Tsuji, via Communication No. 178, dated
February 25, 1997, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Hawaiian Dredging
Construction Company.
Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company has graciously donated an IBM Series III, Model 60,
copying machine, Serial No. 10105234 to the Hawaii County Fire Department, Kona Fire
Prevention Office.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the council, on behalf of
the county, may accept gifts of donations or personal property.
For capitalization purposes, your Committee has requested that a monetary value be placed on
the copying machine. A second draft inclusive of the monetary value will be submitted to
Council for adoption.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 50 and
recommends its adoption. Your Committee also recommends that a letter of appreciation be sent
to Mike Ikeda, Assistant Division Manager, Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company at
P.O. Box 2084, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96745..
