Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 47, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 47, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi via Communication
No. 168 dated February 18, 1997, authorizes the Mayor to negotiate a five (5) year lease
agreement with purchase options for the acquisition of eight (8) vehicles for parks operations
islandwide.
Pursuant to Section 10-11 of the Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring the payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one
fiscal year shall be made or approved by resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 47 and
recommends its adoption.
