Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 57-09, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 57-09, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 150,
dated February 10, 2009, authorizes the acceptance of a donation of $1,500 from the Edmund C. Olson
Family Foundation for fire suppression supplies for the Pahala Volunteer Firefighters.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the County,
may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Edmund C. Olson Family Foundation, 11560 Tennessee
Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90064, acknowledging this generous donation.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 57-09, and
recommends its adoption.
