AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 25-5-7 MINIMUM YARDS IN THE SINGLE
FAMILY RESIDENTIAL (RS) DISTRICT AND SECTION 25-5-26 MINIMUM YARDS IN
THE DOUBLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL (RD) DISTRICT, CHAPTER 25 (ZONING
CODE), OF THE HAW All COUNTY CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAW All:
SECTION 1. Section 25-5-7 of the Zoning Code is amended to read:
"Section 25-5-7. Minimum yards.
(a) The minimum yards in the RS district shall be as follows:
(1) On a building site with a required area of seven thousand five hundred
square feet to and including nine thousand nine hundred ninety-nine
square feet:
(A) Front and rear yards, fifteen feet; and
(B) Side yards, eight feet[for a one story building, and ten feet for a
two-story building].
(2) On a building site with a required area of ten thousand square feet to and
including nineteen thousand nine hundred ninety-nine square feet:
(A) Front and rear yards, twenty feet; and
(B) Side yards, ten feet[for a one story building, plus one additional
foot for each additional story]

(3) On a building site with a required area of twenty thousand square feet or
more:
(A) Front and rear yards, twenty-five feet; and
(B) Side yards, fifteen feet.
SECTION 2. Section 25-5-26 of the Zoning Code is amended to read:

square feet to and including nine thousand nine hundred ninety-nine
square feet:
(A) Front and rear yards, fifteen feet; and

two-story building]
(2) On a building site with a required area of ten thousand square feet to and
including nineteen thousand nine hundred ninety-nine square feet:
(A) Front and rear yards, twenty feet; and
(B) Side yards, ten feet[for a one story building, plus one additional

(3) On a building site with a required area of twenty thousand square feet or
more:
(A) Front and rear yards, twenty-five feet; and
(B) Side yards, fifteen feet.
