Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 102, reports as follows:
Communication No. 102, transmitted by Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated January 14, 1997,
requests for confirmation the reappointment of Richard Wurdeman as Corporation Counsel for
the County of Hawaii.
Mr. Wurdeman is a licensed attorney who has served as Corporation Counsel for the past four
years.
Pursuant to Article V, Chapter 2, Section 5-2.2 of the Hawaii County Charter, the corporation
counsel shall be appointed by the mayor, confirmed by the council and may be removed by the
mayor with the approval of the council. The corporation counsel shall be an attorney licensed to
practice and in good standing before the Supreme Court of the State of Hawaii.
Your Committee on Finance recommends confirmation of the reappointment of Mr. Richard
Wurdeman as Corporation Counsel for the County of Hawaii.
