Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 38, reports as follows:
Bill No. 38, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication No. 119,
dated January 17, 1997, amends Ordinance 96-68, as amended, the Capital Budget ending
June 30, 1997, by adding the following projects:

Kona Road Improvements, Phase II -Federal $4,708,800.00

Kona Road Improvements, Phase II 1,291,200.00
(110-699-5697.60-115)
Funds for these projects shall be provided from:
Federal Grants Receivable $4,708,800.00
General Obligation Bonds and/or Other Sources 1.291.200.00
$6,000,000.00
These projects will include the resurfacing of portions of Alii Drive and Palani Road and sight
distance improvements on a section of Mamalahoa Highway.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 38 and
recommends it pass first reacting.
