HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 075 Draft 01 2008-2010COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 75 09 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) WHEREAS, the Hamakua Health Center, Ina (HHC), as a Federally Qualified Health Center, is required to provide oral health services which is integrated with primary medical care and behavioral health services under the Public Health Service Act Section 300e as part of a comprehensive approach to reducing disparities for the low-income and un-insured regardless of health status, race, ethnicity or ability to pay; and WHEREAS, the total cost of the van plus dental equipment is $359,000.00; and WHEREAS, the HHC was awarded $310,000.00 by the Hawaii County Office of Housing and Community Development via a Community Development Block Grant, to purchase a 38' Winnebago chassis which has been converted into a three operatory mobile dental clinic; and WHEREAS, this van arrived in January 2009 and began delivering dental services to the underserved and uninsured patients of North Hawaii, from Laupahoehoe to Kapa`au; and WHEREAS, HHC, a community owned and governed 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to provide accessible, quality health care and educational services which emphasize individual and commurity wellness regardless of an individual's ability to pay, has requested funds from District 9 in order to help fund the purchase of the dental van, in order to offer mobile services to the community; and WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Office of Housing & Community Development to help fund the purchase X-ray equipment for the mobile dental van; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferredlappropriated as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $5,000 OU1' AND FROM 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC-Contingency Relief $5,000 CREDITED TO: i (010.801.5801.32 Office of Housing & Community Development $5,000 Trans to Housing Fund ( Hamakua Health Center -Mobile Dental Van) BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall forward a copy of this resolution to the Housing Administrator and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance wiih the terms of this resolution.
