Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 32, reports as follows:
Bill No. 32, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 31 by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via
Communication No. 87, dated January 8, 1997, authorizes the issuance of general obligation
bonds for the purpose of securing payment of a loan for the qualified wastewater projects of the
County made in Ordinance 96-68, as follows:
Pauka'a Community Collector Sewer $2,500,000.00
Waiakea Houselot Collector Sewer 6.900.000.00
Total Issuance of General Obligation Bonds $9,400,000.00
Bill No. 31 first surfaced at January 21, 1997 Finance Committee meeting. Therewith, it was
deferred pursuant to Section 21-26 of the Hawaii County Code, which requires that the Council
approve all sewer extensions by resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 32 and
recommends it pass first reading.
