These shipping containers, with an estimated total value of $9,500, are being donated by the Matson Navigation Company, P.O. Box 899, Honolulu, Hawai'i 96808. The containers will be used to store the disaster response supplies of the HCCDA, State of Hawai'i Department of Health, and American Red Cross. REQUEST: Matson Navigation is donating three 24' shipping containers to Hawai'i County Civil Defense. Civil Defense wishes to utilize the containers to store disaster response supplies. B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): Hawai'i County Civil Defense Agency (HCCDA) is partnering with the State Department of Health (DOH) in providing DOH with storage for their disaster supplies. Some of these supplies require a higher level of environmental control and security than is offered by HCCDA's warehouse. Matson Navigation has graciously offered to donate three 24' shipping containers valued at $9,500; at least one of which will be utilized to store DOH supplies within the HCCDA warehouse, meeting the requirement for additional control and security. The two additional containers will be used to store HCCDA, Red Cross, and DOH supplies.
