Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 25, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 25, transmitted by Finance Director Hazry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 91, dated January 7, 1997, authorizes the appropriation and use of prior yeaz funds due to
the cancellation of a purchase order or contract.
Resolution No. 25 states that in the fiscal year ended June 30, 1996, the Solid Waste account and
Highway account each encumbered $57,824.77. In the current fiscal year, contract No. 96315,
under IFB 1633, was canceled due to a protest of the bid process, resulting in the formerly
encumbered funds to appear as unexpended allotments. Because these funds are still needed,
Resolution No. 25 authorizes the following amount to be appropriated as set forth below:

Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 25 -and
recommends its adoption.
