Good AJiernoon.
My name is Sherlette Shiigi.
I am a member of the Panaewa Kumiai,
And part owner of a family owned & operated agricultural business in Panaewa.
Today, each one of you holds the power to determine what will happen in our
community.
My only power today is my voice.
I am voicing my opposition to Sonomura Rentals subdividing land zoned Ag 3 into ac
parcels.
I do not envision the viability of farming on'/z acre parcels. Or even 1 acre parcels.
If Sonomura Rental is allowed to do this it will open it up to further development
Throughout the years I have read and heard from all branches of govt. fed, state and
county that they want to protect Ag lands.

Let's keep it Ag. 3.
I just want to make 3 points.
1. The impact of traffic. I dare not use Hwy 11. Dangerous accidents near accidents
My son's driver's Ed instructor from Safe Drivers Hawaii has said that Hwy 11 is the
most dangerous.
It is either Bumper to bumper during peak hours morning and after work or when events
are happening or drivers are speeding thinking it the H-1 freeway
Many of us use the back roads. So envision the added cars to the back roads.
2. Complaints. Residential and Ag don't mix. i use to work for mayor's office and the
governor's office.
We would get Complaints with spraying, smells making them sick, noise and debris
flying from cutting grass or trees.
3. The petition. If we are a government for the people and majority rules. Then our
petition is a testament to that. We do not want the rezoning. Sonomura Rentals can sell
his land just keep it Ag 3.
