COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. ~~ ®~ RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR AMULTI-YEAR LEASE OF A COPY MACHINE FOR THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK-REPROGRAPHIC DIVISION WHEREAS, section 10-11 of the Hawaii County Charter requires that any contract, lease, or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year and more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and WHEREAS, the Reprographic Division's current copy machine has been in service for five years and lease will expire on November 2009; and WHEREAS, the new copier will be able to print color copies and has other additional features like booklets, bi-fold and tri-fold, and WHEREAS, the cost of printing from an outside vendor ranges from $0.57 per copy to $1.72 per copy, while the new copier would cost us approximately $0.08 per copy; and WHEREAS, the Reprographic Division has had many inquiries for color printing and has recognized a need for it; and WHEREAS, the Office of the County Clerk-Reprographic Division wishes to enter into a five (5) year lease, for a copy machine, at an approximate cost of $1,319.59 per month (replacing the existing machine cost of $1,325.84 per month) or approximately $15,835.08 per year; and WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds budgeted in the current fiscal year to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the lease agreement; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into the multi-year lease agreement for copy machine for the Reprographic Division of the Office of the County Clerk. 2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the lease agreement; and
