Re: Appointment of Deputy Director of Civil Defense for Hawaii County
Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Members of the County Council:
Section 128-3 (d) of the Hawai'i Revised Statutes requires that the State Director of Civil
Defense shall, with the approval of the County Council, appoint a Deputy Director of
Civil Defense to be the head of all local organizations for civil defense for the County.
Major General Robert G.F. Lee, State Director of Civil Defense, has tendered the
appointment to me as the Mayor of the County, and I have accepted pending the
concurrence and approval of the County Council.
Therefore I request the approval of the County Council of my appointment as Deputy
Director of Civil Defense for the County of Hawai'i.
