Section 5340, <br /> Growing States and High Density States Formula Program (Non-urbanized) and passing <br /> the County's share of $977,812 through to the Hawai'i County Mass Transit Agency. The <br /> funds will be used to purchase two (2) 49 passenger coach buses and bus shelter <br /> materials. <br /> <br /> Enclosed is a resolution to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of <br /> Hawai'i Department of Transportation for the ARRA funds. <br /> Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the <br /> $977,812 into the Bus & Bus Shelter Materials - ARRA account. <br /> <br /> Since these funds need to be committed within 180 days, as set forth by Federal regulations, <br /> the Mass Transit Agency is requesting to waive the Finance Committee and to have this <br /> resolution and bill heard at the next Council meeting scheduled for April 8, 2009. <br /> <br /> If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Hawai'i County Mass Transit <br /> Agency.
