Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 45, reports as
follows:
Communication No. 45, transmitted by Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated
December 19, 1996, nominates Mrs. Mary R. Kim, of Puna, to the Hawaii County
Pension Board.
A 24-year resident of Hawaii, Mrs. Kim will replace Faustino D. Domingo, whose term
expired December 31, 1996. Mrs. Kim has been aself-employed Realtor since 1983 and
is a member of the Board of Realtors. Of no political affiliation, she will serve a term to
end December 31, 2001.
Mrs. Kim stated that she is comfortable in making the commitment to attend the
meetings, and is familiar with the sunshine law.
Pursuant to Article V, Section 5-3.4 of the Hawaii County Charter, the members of the
Hawaii County Pension Board shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the
council in the manner prescribed in Article XIII, Section 13-4 of the Hawaii County
Charter.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the approval of the appointment of
Mrs. Mary R. Kim to the Hawaii County Pension Board.
