ORDINANCE NO. 97 126
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 97-83, AS AMENDED, THE
OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 1998.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNTY OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Purpose. It is the purpose of this ordinance to establish the
necessary appropriation within the Department of Research & Development to
support the County's role in the demonstration Papaya Quarantine Program.
The County's participation includes leasing of lands from Bishop Estate for
purposes of the quarantine program and to support continued research on the
fruit qualities of transgenic papaya plants.
SECTION 2. Ordinance No. 97-83, as amended, is hereby amended by
appropri~ting revenues in the following amounts to the fund as set forth in
Section ~.
