Comm. 720: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MULTI-YEAR FUNDING (Res. 230) FOR THE STATEWIDE WASTEWATER TREATMENT WORKS OPERATOR TRAINING FACILITY From Chief Engineer Donna Fay K. Kiyosaki, P.E., dated February 9, 1998, transmitting the above resolution authorizing the County to enter into a multi-year Memorandum of Agreement for the above-mentioned facility and copy of the subject Memorandum of Agreement. A grant of $500,000 was awarded to the Department of Health by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to establish a facility to train and update wastewater treatment works operation and maintenance personnel on a statewide basis. Hawaii County's share of the annual operating and maintenance cost of the facility is 14 percent. The projected total operating budget for the facility in the 1998-1999 fiscal year will not exceed $142,500 and annual increases of the operating budget shall not exceed 10 percent. Carvalho, dated February 11, 1998, transmitting the above resolution. The equipment will be used for the West Hawaii Community Policing Program and its value is approximately $279.40. Comm. 729: RESOLUTION REQUESTING $2,000 TO PROVIDE BUS (Res. 234) TRANSPORTATION FOR SENIOR CITIZENS TO ATTEND THE SENIOR HEALTH FAIR ON JUNE 1, 1998 AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII-HILO CAMPUS CENTER From Council Chair James Arakaki, dated February 20, 1998, transmitting the above resolution.
