Dear Chairman and Planning Committee Members,
My name is Paul Kobayashi. I am born and raised in Kona and
currently live in North Kona.
When I first heard about this project several years ago,
alot of my friends expressed concerns over the ability to
continue doing the many "gathering" activities along the
shoreline. This was our main concern. We grew up picking opihi,
catching aama crab, and fishing and diving along this coastline.
We are pleased to hear that Kaupulehu Developments have
included in their plans a Resource Management Plan to preserve
our interests along the Coast. This plan is the first of its
kind and will also preserve the native cultural and historical
treasures on these lands.
I ask for your support for the plans being proposed by
Kaupulehu Developments.
