Dear Planning Committee Members,
My name is Gary DePontes. I am a lifelong resident (over 50
years) of Kailua-Kona. Currently I live in Kona Palisades which is
the closest residential subdivision to this proposed project.
I remember when there was nothing in Kona. Queen Kaahumanu
Highway ended at Honokohau Harbor and there was little chance to
see the West Coast of this island. There was very little
development, shopping was limited, and not much employment
opportunities.
Growth, for our community, has allowed the lands to be opened
up for the public to explore and enjoy. It has created
opportunities for people to own their own homes, and has given
those of us who wish to remain here, choices in employment.
For these reasons, I ask your support of the plans for
Kaupulehu Developments.
