Dear Ms. Leithead-Todd and Committee Members,
My name is Grant Shiraishi. I am born and raised in Kona.
I now support my significant other and our two children. We live
in the Queen Liliuokalani Subdivision in Kealakehe.
Over the past several years, I have heard about the plans
being shared with our community by Kaupulehu Developments. They
have taken the community's concerns to produce a project that we
all can be happy with.
The project will be set back from the shoreline and continue
to allow us to enjoy this area with more access and safety. They
have reserved 235 acres to be saved for limited use under a
unique Resource Management Plan. This will allow the proper
management and protection of cultural and environmental resources
in this area.
My employment has been inconsistent. I continue to look for
stable employment to feed and sustain my family's financial
needs. This project will enhance my ability to do so by
providing additional employment opportunities.
I urge you to join me in support of the rezoning that
Kaupulehu Developments is applying for.
